This two-day Saturday workshop is designed for complete beginners who are interested in learning about working with clay. On the first day, you will learn different ways of making ceramic pieces before biscuit firing them ahead of the second half day workshop. In the second session, you will glaze and prepare your piece for final firing in the kiln.
Students will be introduced to working with clay to create a variety of ceramic forms. There are no restrictions on your creativity and all kinds of different objects can be made - functional or other - and there are plenty of reference books available to help you with ideas.
The aim is for you to emerge with a range of basic skills and ability as well as the confidence to use a range of different medium. Once the demonstrations have been covered each student will be able to work on creating pieces in their own individual style, in a brief developed between themselves and the tutor.
