Have you ever wondered where the yarn for your sweaters comes from? Or how sheep wool can be processed into luxurious skeins of yarn? Well, wonder no more! Join us for a journey that will take you from wool to… well, eventually a jumper. Along this session you will learn how to wash, card and spin your wool, so you can eventually use it to knit or crochet something useful.

How to wash wool
How to card wool
How to spin the wool by hand using a drop spindle
Entry Requirements
No previous experience required for this course.
Materials
Wool will be available but students are more than welcome to bring their own if they wish. Drop spindles will be provided.
Progression
Students may wish to enrol on other leisure courses, such as knitting, crochet, dressmaking etc.
