Join us for a relaxing morning of crochet where you'll learn to create the classic granny square – one of the most versatile and beloved crochet motifs! Granny squares are typically square-shaped crochet pieces, which feature an open, lacy pattern that's surprisingly simple to master. Once you have mastered the basic technique, you can combine multiple squares to create a range of items from cosy blankets to cushion covers, bags and scarves.
What Will I Study?
In this hands-on session, you'll discover how to:
Create a granny square from start to finish
Join squares together to build larger projects
Explore colour combinations and design variations
Entry Requirements
This workshop has been designed as a follow-on session for students who attended our Introduction to Crochet course, but is open to anyone confident with double and treble crochet stitches.
Materials
We'll provide some materials to get you started, but please bring your own crochet hook if you have one, plus any specific yarns you'd like to use. This way, you can create granny squares in colours and styles of your choosing.
Progression
We may offer further crochet workshops subject to there being sufficient demand. You could also consider enrolling onto one of our other sewing and textiles courses.
