Join Christine Costidell, an experienced Counsellor, Supervisor and Yoga Teacher, in this one-day CPD opportunity. This course is designed as CPD for Counsellors, but is also open to anyone with an interest in learning more about meditation and mindfulness and how it can be used to improve overall well-being.
The course will focus on cultivating inner peace, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being through meditation and mindful practices. By integrating these practices into your professional life and personal life, you can promote mental clarity, emotional balance and resilience for both you and your clients.
What Will I Study?
You will explore current research on the benefits of meditation and mindfulness, gaining an understanding of their impacts on mental health and therapeutic outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to explore and experience different meditation techniques, including the yogic techniques of pranayama (breathing) and yoga nidra (yogic ‘sleep’).
There will be a focus on integrating and incorporating meditation and mindfulness into daily life and you will leave the day equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience, as well as enhancing your ability to support clients in managing stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about the body/mind connection and experiencing the beneficial overall effects of meditation and mindfulness on health and wellbeing.
Materials
Pen and paper for note taking. Comfortable clothing to enable gentle movement, stretching and overall comfort for the body throughout the day. You may wish to bring cushions and blankets (for the yoga nidra session).
Yoga mats will be provided for some of the meditation/yogic practices.
Progression
Ongoing regular practice and further exploration of counselling and leisure courses. You may also consider signing up to other CPD Courses as they become available.
