This course is for adults with approximately 5 years of French study or equivalent, who would like to continue improving their spoken French, extend their range of vocabulary and tenses, and expand their knowledge of French culture.
Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to do the set tasks in preparation for the next lesson.
What Will I Study?
You will expand your vocabulary and grammar using all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to enable you to communicate with increasing confidence.
We will be revising areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as needed, including present, past and future tenses, and reading/listening comprehension strategies.
Possible topics include:
describing and asking about travel experiences
discussing dreams, plans and regrets, giving advice,
talking about your digital identity, presenting and defending opinions, expressing agreement or disagreement
making complaints and protesting
reporting events and presenting information
talking about films, education, and the media
Entry Requirements
To join at this level, you should have a good knowledge of everyday vocabulary and be able to use the present, future, perfect and imperfect tenses and the present conditional.

Materials
Text books will be discussed at the start of the course. Please bring a pen and paper and a folder for your notes.
Progression
We offer a Semester 2 course that begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term. You would then be able to progress to the next level.
