Hatha Yoga is the branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. It uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation, with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy, flexible body and a clear, peaceful, balanced mind.
The aim of this yoga course is to reduce stress and increase general health and wellbeing. Students will perform yoga postures, which will include modifications and alternate postures for anyone with varying abilities. Breathing techniques will be used to relax and manage stress and students will learn to understand the link between breath and movement.
Practising a little of what you have learned in class is always a very good idea and you will notice you will improve really quickly if you do so. However, there is absolutely no obligation to do so.
