Overview

This course is for adults who have been learning German for a minimum of two years. Students should have a good knowledge of German, beyond basic tourist conversations.

Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to re-read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.

What Will I Study?

You will enhance your learning and comprehension using the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will revise and solidify your knowledge of present and past tense to enable you to communicate with confidence.

Possible topics include:

  • Looking for a hotel - ask someone for help, institutions and places in town
  • Describing a house, a giving an opinion on a town
  • Appointments - writing emails
  • Expressing wishes and plans, congratulations and invitations
  • Giving advice on health and illness
  • Clothes: talk about clothes, describing outer appearance and character

In terms of grammar, you will cover: possessive pronouns, prepositions, imperatives and comparisons of adjectives.

Entry Requirements

  • You should have two years’ experience in learning German, or equivalent proficiency. 
  • You should be able to talk about your daily routine, hobbies and likes and dislikes

Text book will be discussed at the first session. Please bring pen, paper and a folder
