Overview

This course is run by Eve V Dawson, an MA graduate in Fine Art, who has many years art experience and enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills in all aspects of painting.

The aim of this course is for each person to come away with a sense of achievement having experienced and experimented with a selection of techniques, materials and processes, all of which will enable them to develop further as artists.

Students will be supported as they complete at least two paintings across the course, and by the end will have gained confidence in their individual artistic capabilities.

What Will I Study?

This course will guide the group of students, step by step - by demonstration, as they discover techniques to enable them to create a painting (referencing photographic images) from start to finish.

The tutor will demonstrate each stage for students to follow. There will be opportunities for individuals to branch out and do their own thing, if they have been inspired to do so. By the end of the course you will have completed at least two paintings. You will be studying alongside like-minded people (aged 19+), with the opportunity to learn new skills or expanding existing ones, making new friends and most importantly enjoying a mindful yet creative journey.

The course will cover topics such as the use of colour, composition, texture, light & shade and the application of paint. The tutor will encourage you to look at the work of other artists and take inspiration from their colours, style and techniques.
