This course is for adults who feel confident speaking French and want to continue practising it and expanding their knowledge of French culture.

To join at this level, you should have a broad range of French vocabulary and a good working knowledge of all the tenses and moods.

You should be able to communicate confidently in French about most topics.

You will expand your existing vocabulary and deepen your knowledge of grammar to enable you to communicate precisely and effectively. We will be revising advanced areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as needed.

During this course, you will practise and develop all four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), with a particular focus on speaking and listening.

These skills will enable you to:

• Maintain extended conversations on a range of different topics.
• Improve your listening and reading skills.
• Improve the accuracy and range of your spoken and written language.
• Expand your knowledge of French culture and current affairs.

To join this course you should be able to communicate confidently in French about most topics and have a good working knowledge of all the tenses. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding your suitability for this course.

Course materials will be discussed at the first session. Please bring pen, paper and a folder.

We offer a Semester 2 course that begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term.
