This outdoor taster session aims to introduce you to the ethos and underpinning evidence and theories which promote the importance of learning outdoors. It is ideal for parents and carers who would like to learn more about the different activities and learning opportunities available in the outdoor environment.
What Will I Study?
You will experience an outdoor Forest School session including risk assessments, exploring the immediate area, ecosystem, the role of the adults, two activities and two knots for different uses.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements, just an interest the ethos behind the Forest school approach and a love of being outdoors in the natural environment.
Materials
Please dress in appropriate clothing for the season and predicted weather forecast. There will be a 20-minute break to get a warm drink and a snack or bring something with you. Toilets are inside. A note book and pen will be useful, but information will be shared online.
Progression
You could progress onto the Level 1 Award in Forest School Principles.
