This 20 week course helps students deepen their language skills and build greater confidence in communication. Through role-plays, dialogues, and real-life tasks, students will broaden their vocabulary, strengthen grammar, and improve fluency in everyday and cultural contexts. Emphasis is placed on practical communication and immersion in the Greek language.
What Will I Study?
In this course, you will:
Strengthen your communication skills in everyday Greek by learning how to talk about plans and intentions, describe and compare places, and discuss holidays and free time.
Learn how to express likes and dislikes, give and ask for opinions, and express agreement or disagreement.
Describe objects using colours and discuss different means of transportation, gaining greater confidence in real-life conversations.

Entry Requirements
Students wishing to join this course would ideally have completed our Introduction to Greek course and have studied the language for 1 year or equivalent. Attendees should be able to:
Communicate in everyday situations by greeting others, introducing themselves and others, and exchanging personal information such as name, nationality, place of origin, address, occupation, and family status.
Be able to talk about foreign languages and their daily routines. In addition, students must be confident using numbers, giving simple affirmative or negative answers, describing people, exchanging information about qualities and objects, and expressing simple views and judgments.

Materials
You may need to purchase a textbook, which will be discussed in the first session. You will need to bring a pen and paper for note-taking. Additional handouts and audio resources will be provided to support your learning. Access to a Greek-English dictionary is recommended.
Progression
We offer a Semester 2 course in the summer term. It begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term. After completing this course students can progress to the next level of the language.
