Overview

Take your quilting skills to the next level with our Intermediate Quilting Techniques evening course. This course is designed for those who have completed our Patchwork Quilting course or are confident with the fundamentals of quilting and ready to explore more advanced methods.

Join us for this relaxed, skill-building course that blends traditional craftsmanship with creative expression. You should be comfortable using a sewing machine and looking to refine your technical quilting skills.

What Will I Study?

Throughout this 10-week course, you will deepen your understanding of quilting through hands-on exploration of decorative and dimensional techniques such as Trapunto (stuffed quilting), Kantha (Indian running stitch embroidery), and Sashiko (Japanese geometric stitching).

You’ll also learn how to incorporate these styles into modern quilt designs, panels, and home décor projects. You will learn:

  • How to prepare and layer quilts for advanced techniques
  • Stitching methods and patterns for trapunto, kantha, and sashiko
  • Combining hand and machine stitching for texture and impact
  • Project planning and integrating new styles into your own quilt designs
