What Will I Study?
In this practical workshop, you'll learn essential watercolour techniques including:
How to mix colours and create basic washes
Understanding paint consistency and water control
Creating light and dark values through layering
Basic brush handling techniques and mark-making
Simple composition principles for still life subjects
Ways to create texture and special effects
Entry Requirements
No previous painting experience is needed. This workshop is designed for complete beginners, though painters with some experience who want to refresh their fundamentals are also welcome.
Materials
All materials will be provided, however students may bring their own equipment or sketchbooks if preferred. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on, or an apron, just in case.
