What Will I Study?

Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people learn to manage their emotions, relationships and make positive changes in their lives. It involves a set of practical conceptual tools designed to promote personal growth and change.  DBT can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including personality disorders, interpersonal conflicts, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and substance use.

Students will gain a certificate on completion, and this is covered by the course fee.

  • Mindfulness: The first module is Mindfulness which is a state of mind about being in the moment and the core component to regulate emotions.
  • Emotional regulation: In this module you will learn about emotions and their purpose so that you can better identify and regulate them when they surface.
  • Distress Tolerance: skills which teach you methods on how to reduce distress and manage it in healthy ways
