Overview

Exploring Philosophy is for those who have already completed an Introduction to Philosophy, or who have some existing knowledge of the subject, and would like to explore in more depth. Learners will examine diverse perspectives on life’s big questions to enrich their understanding of the world and nurture a deeper connection to humanity.

What Will I Study?

Students will engage in debate and begin to refine their critical thinking skills in order to deepen their understanding of the questions shaping human thought. Your tutor will introduce more intricate concepts from ancient and contemporary philosophy and provide opportunities to apply your learning to your personal experience.

Entry Requirements

This course is ideal for those who have completed our Introduction to Philosophy course and wish to continue their studies. If you have an interest in Philosophy and are happy to join an existing class, you are welcome to join this course. If you would like to discuss your suitability for this course, please contact us prior to enrolling.  

Materials

No specific materials. Please bring a pen and paper to take notes. 

Progression

The course will hopefully lead to a deeper understanding of the most important questions that have struck humanity over the last four thousand years, and potentially further training in philosophy. We always consider offering an extension course if there is a sufficient interest.
