This course is designed for complete beginners to introduce them to the French language and culture from scratch. The primary objective is to develop foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate in basic everyday situations and have an understanding of fundamental French grammar and vocabulary.
Throughout this course you will learn basic greetings and key phrases, receive an introduction to basic grammar and vocabulary and gain confidence in speaking French in everyday situations. You will learn how to pronounce and understand thematic vocabulary. As with all our language courses, your will develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to enable you to communicate with confidence.

Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.

We offer a Semester 2 course that begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term. You would then be able to progress to the next level.
