This 10-week Pilates course is for all ages and ability levels – from beginners upwards. In this course, your tutor will blend basic Pilates moves with the principles of the Franklin Method. Students will create efficient, co-ordinated and healthy movements by improving their alignment through a dynamic, multi-perspective approach to movement, using effective imagery rather than just mechanical positioning of the body. This will help to avoid the build-up of tension and improve the condition of the body. If you are carrying an injury, this course may help you with your rehabilitation and recovery.
Please note that there will be floor-based exercises.
What Will I Study?
You will learn an organic blend of gentle Pilates movement and dance moves, which will help to improve your overall posture and alignment. Various skills and approaches will help strengthen your body as well as helping to reduce tension in your muscles, bones, joints, ligaments and organs for more vitality and strength in daily life.
You will learn how to exercise your body with the help of soft Franklin-balls and TheraBand, in addition to looking at relaxing your neck, shoulders and back, psoas muscle and inner core and feet. Students will also learn to use Imagery for a flexible, dynamic, healthy and aligned spine. Learners will also gain knowledge of aspects of anatomy and physiology to aid effortless movement performance.
