Overview

Our new dance fitness class is based on Nia, a workout which combines dance, martial arts and mindfulness to tone your body and transform your mind. Nia is a holistic fitness practice addressing each aspect of your life - body, mind and soul. The course is for anyone who enjoys simple dance moves to soul–stirring music.

What Will I Study?

Nia empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs and abilities – the class is taught by a licensed Nia teacher.

Throughout the course we will combine a variety of 52 simple dance moves to help tone and energize body, mind, emotion and spirit. Nia is non-impact, practiced barefoot, and adaptable to individual needs and abilities.

Entry Requirements

No - but if you have any health issues please consult your doctor to check if this course is suitable for you.

Materials

No specific materials required. Please wear loose and comfortable closing and bring a small towel and a water bottle.

This low impact fitness class is intended to be barefoot, but students could possibly wear aerobics or similar lightweight flexible fitness shoes according to individual need (existing injuries etc.)

Progression

A healthier, stronger, flexible and more toned body. You may notice weight loss as this is a low intense cardio-vascular work-out. You should also see an improvement of general well-being and have more energy and joy!
