Overview

This course is for adults who have done several years of study of the language before, who have an advanced knowledge of Italian and who can talk about a range of topics in the language i.e. films, books, politics, culture etc. To join at this level, you should have a knowledge of all of the tenses of the Indicativo and Congiuntivo.

In this course you will expand your vocabulary and grammar using all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) on practical topics to enable you to improve your Italian communication skills.

Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.

What Will I Study?

You will learn how to talk about your opinion, hypothetical situations and to become more fluent in tenses that you may know in theory but find it harder to use in speaking and writing. You will revise harder elements of grammar when needed (i.e. Verbi pronominali, less common uses of the Gerundio, Periodo Ipotetico), but the focus will be mostly on speaking and learning about Italian culture.

Throughout this course you will:

  • learn to engage in conversations about more complex topics.
  • explore Italian culture (idioms for example).
  • improve your listening skills.
  • learn to talk using a wider variety of tenses and vocabulary.
