This course is for adults who have studied the language for several years before and can speak quite confidently on a range of topics. To join at this level, you should have three years of previous study, or equivalent.
Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.
What Will I Study?
You will expand your vocabulary and grammar (using all four language skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing) on practical topics to enable you to communicate. We will revise the present, past and future tenses.
You will learn to:
read short texts and complete relevant worksheets
write sentences and translate intermediate (B1) texts into Italian
listen to the tutor and a variety of audio materials
watch interesting videos which supplement the course book
speak in class, in pairs and in group discussions
Entry Requirements
To join at this level, you should be able to:
understand written texts that use the present, present perfect, imperfect, conditional and future tenses with some knowledge of the congiuntivo (ie present subjunctive).
read aloud fairly accurately.
talk about yourself confidently, express your opinions and engage in simple discussions in Italian about everyday events and situations.

Please bring pen, paper and a folder. The information about the current course book will be provided at the first class.
Progression
We offer a Semester 2 course that begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term. You would then be able to progress to the next level.
