Overview

Italian Year 3 is for students who have either completed 2 years of study or similar and now want to move onto the next level. During this course you will be exposed to all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening), revising and developing your knowledge and understanding of Italian.

Homework is given on a weekly basis - to benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.

What Will I Study?

You will expand your vocabulary, use of idiomatic and grammatical structures and develop your skills to be able to converse more confidently, using the present, past (including imperfect) and future tenses.

You will learn to:

  • read and translate simple Italian texts, articles and books
  • write descriptive texts, sentences and complete relevant worksheets
  • speak in class more confidently and explore Italian culture
  • listen to the tutor and a range of relevant audio materials
  • study more in-depth grammar, eg imperfect and future tenses.

Two years of learning Italian, or equivalent, is required for this class.

  • You should be able to speak about yourself and your hobbies and to converse in Italian using the present and present perfect tenses using simple vocabulary and expressions.
