This course is for adults who can cope with typical Spanish tourist conversations and are able to speak about topics such as hobbies, places or family. It is for those looking to expand their knowledge and be more fluent when speaking, so that they are able to have conversations on a wider range of topics in Spanish.
Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.
What Will I Study?
You will expand your vocabulary and grammar using all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) on practical topics to enable you to communicate.
We will practice using all past tenses in the same text/conversation as necessary in real life.
You will increase your vocabulary and grammar and improve your ability to talk about yourself and your jobs, hobbies, describe people and places and deal with situations such as problems in the airport, at the train station or in a hotel, at the doctors, etc. in all tenses.
Entry Requirements
To join at this level, you should have a good knowledge of the present tense, and a basic knowledge of the past gained from 4 years of study or equivalent. You will need to feel confident speaking about yourself, your family, jobs, hobbies or places and ready to expand your Spanish language skills.
Materials
Please bring pen, paper and a folder. Text books will be discussed at the first session.
Progression
Semester 2 begins immediately after Semester 1 and is an integral part of the course, the exact length of which will be decided in the spring term. You would then be able to progress to the next level.
