Overview

This course is for adults who can cope with typical Spanish tourist conversations and are able to speak about topics such as hobbies, places or family. It is for those looking to expand their knowledge and be more fluent when speaking, so that they are able to have conversations on a wider range of topics in Spanish.

Homework is given on a weekly basis. To benefit most from the course, you will be encouraged to read the materials used during lessons and refer to the course book.

What Will I Study?

You will expand your vocabulary and grammar using all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) on practical topics to enable you to communicate.

  • We will be revising the use of Pronouns, the Present, Future and Past tenses (Pretérito Indefinido, Pretérito Imperfecto, Pretérito Perfecto and Pretérito Pluscuamperfecto).
  • We will practice using all past tenses in the same text/conversation as necessary in real life.
  • You will increase your vocabulary and grammar and improve your ability to talk about yourself and your jobs, hobbies, describe people and places and deal with situations such as problems at the airport, at the train station, in a hotel, at the doctors, etc. in all tenses.

Entry Requirements

To join at this level, you should have a good knowledge of all the tenses in the Indicative Mode gained from 4 years of study or equivalent.

You will need to be confident speaking about yourself, your family, jobs, hobbies, holidays and places using different tenses and feel ready to expand your Spanish language skills.
