Overview

Throughout this course your tutor, artist Eve Dawson, will present a step by step introduction to abstract floral painting. You will gain confidence and experience through exploring a selection of techniques, tools, materials and processes, and you will ultimately create your very own stunning floral abstract piece.

What Will I Study?

You will have a choice of either painting from an image or you can opt to create a more intuitive work based on one of Eve’s abstract floral paintings. Either way, Eve will introduce you to her style of painting from the very beginning (the blank canvas) to adding the finishing touches, producing a floral abstract masterpiece using acrylics and other media.

The course will cover techniques including:

  • canvas preparation
  • colour pallet
  • paint (brushstrokes and marks) tools
  • light
  • texture
  • composition.

Eve will encourage you to loosen up and relax and to enjoy the process of creating a painting!
