The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology (QCF) is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a reflexologist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a reflexologist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to use reflexology techniques for relaxation and to promote self-healing for your clients. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients. You will be expected to complete all units and to carry out and document evidence for at least 100 treatments.
What Will I Study?
Students will complete the following mandatory units:
Business practice for complementary therapies
Principles and practice of complementary therapies
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies
Providing reflexology for complementary therapies
Entry Requirements
Level 2 Beauty Therapy or the equivalent and a good standard of English at GCSE grade A-C / 4-9 (or equivalent) is preferred. You should have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Level 3 students are expected to have a good self-study ethic, researching and revising topics so that lessons progress well and underpinning theoretical knowledge is in place.
Materials
You will need a beauty therapy uniform, kit and student text book. Order forms for these are available at interview with a negotiated college discount from our suppliers.
Progression
This qualification will confirm your competence for employment as a reflexologist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a reflexologist. Career opportunities as a reflexologist exist in a variety of contexts, including:
Working in commercial complementary therapy clinics
Working a commercial spa or salon
Working in the NHS in hospitals and care homes
Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings
On successful completion students may also consider undertaking additional study at Level 4.
