Overview

Join us on this 8-week fun and relaxed course led by creative florist Louise Bradshaw. Louise trained at the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers in London and her floral installations have been displayed at prestigious venues such as St James' Palace and Winchester Cathedral Close. Over the duration of this course, your tutor will cover traditional and contemporary floristry techniques, and will also include aspects of her own style - using seasonal blooms in natural, unstructured arrangements.

This course is ideal for complete beginners, as well as those considering a career change and anyone with a passion for flowers.

What Will I Study?

You will learn sustainable techniques in floristry, how to source your flowers, condition them and prepare them for any event, wedding or for your home. Students will learn to consider colour, design, styling, choice of flowers and products.

The flowers and foliage uses will be seasonal and from a local flower farm wherever possible.

There will be plenty of opportunity for note taking and photographs, but this is a creative course, so you will be creating beautiful flowers yourself.

here will be a different focus each week, and subjects may include:

  • Hand-tied gift bouquets
  • Flower crowns
  • Table centres
  • Buttonholes and corsages
  • Arranging flowers in bottles, vases and a variety of vessels
  • Garlands
