Overview

This course is for adults with at least 6 years of French study who would like to increase their fluency and confidence in spoken French, extend their repertoire of vocabulary and structures, and expand their knowledge of French culture.

What Will I Study?

You will expand your vocabulary and grammar using all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), as well as developing strategies to enable you to communicate more effectively.

We will be revising areas of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as needed, including the most commonly used tenses.

Students will practice and develop all four language skills and broaden their range of vocabulary, including colloquial language. There will also be a focus on the use of more varied and complex language structures, including the subjunctive.

These skills will enable you to:

  • Discuss and give your opinion on a variety of topics, describe and relate experiences and react to texts and videos.
  • Improve your listening and reading skills.
  • Improve the accuracy and range of your spoken and written language.
  • Expand your knowledge of French culture and current affairs.
