Overview

This course is for adults who have completed A-level or degree-level French, or who have completed more than 6 years of personal study and are keen to read French literature extracts crossing several centuries.

What Will I Study?

You will expand your knowledge of French authors and key literary extracts from the Renaissance to the present day.

We will cover a range of literary extracts, which    will encompass:

•  Poetry

•  Plays and sketches

•  Short stories and novels

•  Philosophy and opinion pieces

•  Adult and children's comic books

Entry Requirements

To join at this level, you should be confident reading modern day French, such as newspaper and magazine articles. You should also be able to express your views in French and have completed A-level or degree-level French.

Progression

Upon completion of this 10-week course, learners will have the opportunity to continue to French Literature – Part 2 (10 weeks), where you will further develop your knowledge in French Literature, subject to sufficient demand.
