Information About The Post
Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
Maths is the largest subject in the College, with students studying A level Maths and Further Maths, Statistics and GCSE. There are 26 Maths teachers in a well organised and resourced department, including staff who have additional responsibilities to manage particular areas of the curriculum. We follow the OCR (MEI) specification for A level Mathematics and Further Maths and Edxcel for A-Level Statistics. The GCSE resit course follows the AQA specification.
We have a vacancy from August 2025 and welcome applications from either newly qualified or experienced teachers with an enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning, and a strong commitment to supporting student progress. You will have a degree in Maths or an allied subject. It is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful and enthusiastic team.
