We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Careers Adviser to join us on a fixed term contract to cover an absence. The successful applicant will provide expert guidance to our sixth form students as they navigate their post-college options.

Information About The Post
Peter Symonds is located in Winchester. It is a vibrant sixth form college which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. Our unofficial College motto has long been ‘Counting in Ones’ and we work hard to make this a supportive and friendly place to study, with every student treated as an individual. Not only is this at the heart of our work with our students, but we also strive to support and value our staff in the same way.
A Careers Adviser plays a crucial role in supporting students to be aware of their options and opportunities available after their studies, along with plan and achieve a successful transition. We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced Careers Adviser to join the College’s Careers Department on a temporary basis for two days a week (Monday & Friday), a total of 15 hours a week. Duties will include providing one-to-one careers guidance, delivering group sessions and supporting careers events throughout the academic year.
The successful candidate will have a Qualification in Careers Guidance (Level 6 or 7). You will also have recent experience of working in a post 16 environment and an up to date knowledge of post 18 options, including familiarity with the higher education and UCAS application system. Your excellent interpersonal and organisational skills will equip you to work well as part of the Careers team.
