Netball 3rd/4th Team Coach

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College. We have an exciting opportunity for a new member of staff to join our team to coach our Netball Team. The successful candidate will ideally be able to drive a minibus and have a Netball coaching qualification with previous experience of working with young adults. There is a need for some flexibility as the team will have occasional fixtures which will fall on other days.

Information About The Post

Duties will include:
1. Attending training sessions and fixtures as timetabled every week.
2. Liaising with the Head of Enrichment/Sports Coordinator regarding fixtures and team members
3. Leading safe, standard appropriate training sessions for all members of the team.
4. Completing team sheets in advance of all fixtures, distributing to members of the team and the sports coordinator.
5. Ensuring mature and appropriate student behaviour at all fixtures.
6. Travel with teams on coach or mini bus to and from away fixtures
7. Encouraging team members to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques.
8. Inspiring confidence and self-belief in team members
9. First Aid cover at training sessions and fixtures
10. Covering other sports teams when required if this falls within your working hours.
11. Attending any college training that is appropriate to your role.
12. Familiarising yourself with risk assessments needed for sporting activities.
13. Prioritising the safeguarding of all students and participating in training on safeguarding matters.
14. Contributing to the elimination of unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
15. Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Principal.
