Information About The Post

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.

Maths is the largest subject in the College, with students studying A level Maths and Further Maths, Statistics and GCSE. There are more than twenty Maths teachers in a well organised and resourced department, including staff who have additional responsibilities to manage particular areas of the curriculum offer. We use the OCR (MEI) specification for A level Mathematics and Further Maths.  The GCSE resit course uses the AQA specification.

We have a part-time vacancy from September 2024 and welcome applications from either newly qualified or experienced teachers with an enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning, and a strong commitment to supporting student progress. You will have a degree in Maths or an allied subject. It is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful and enthusiastic team of staff.
