Safeguarding
Child Protection is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare and refers to activities that are undertaken to: protect children and young people from maltreatment; prevent impairment of health or development; prevent radicalisation; ensure they grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and action is taken to enable all to have the best outcomes.
The College will work in accordance with guidance set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children, Keeping Children Safe in Education, What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused and Information sharing: Advice for practitioners providing safeguarding services to children, young people, parents and carers.
This policy outlines the guidance for Peter Symonds College staff in dealing with allegations, suspicions or disclosures of abuse or radicalisation by students.
