The Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Techniques and Management Practice in Hairdressing course (VTCT), is ideal for experienced and qualified hairdressing professionals who work unsupervised, possibly in a supervisory or managerial role, and have a high level of relevant knowledge and skills.
This qualification can help you set up and run your own hairdressing business. You will gain the skills to manage staff and resources, learn how to develop and promote your business, and develop your technical skills.
All students will cover the following mandatory unit:
You will then have a choice of optional units which will allow you to experience the different skills required to work within the hairdressing industry in a management role.

The qualification is suited for experienced and qualified hairdressing professionals who have specific roles within a salon. Applicants should have a Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing or equivalent.
You will require a full hairdressing kit, a uniform and a student text book. Further details will be provided at interview.
You will also need two A4 Folders for you course notes and portfolio of evidence. Please be aware that there will be additional costs for advanced units such as hair extensions, as you will need the appropriate kit to take part. Please contact the Hair and Beauty department for further information.
On completion, you will have the skills and knowledge to open your own salon or work in a senior management role within the industry. Learners could also progress also onto a Level 5 Hairdressing qualification.
