Information About The Post
The main College site has 26 buildings of a range of ages including offices, classrooms, laboratories and sports facilities, plus grounds covering 32 acres. There is a second site with a single building about a mile away.
The Estates team is responsible for the maintenance of the premises and grounds, with the assistance of contractors where necessary, including: replacement, repair and maintenance services; health & safety in respect of the fabric of the campus; cleaning services; support to curriculum and other staff; statutory checks and porterage. We seek a Deputy Estates Manager to assist the Manager, deputising in his absence. You will also have a range of specific responsibilities which include triage of minor tasks, day to day monitoring of the estate and ensuring that checks are done.
The successful candidate will be experienced in maintenance or a trade. You will have good standards of literacy and numeracy, as well as being sufficiently confident in the use of IT to learn and use our task management database system. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to be flexible to get the job done.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
