Peter Symonds College is currently recruiting a full time maternity contract Teacher of Biology and Applied Human Biology to join a friendly team who are working in one of the largest departments in the College.

Information About The Post
Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
Biology is one of the largest departments in the College, with fourteen teaching staff and four technicians delivering GCE Eduqas Biology and BTEC Human Biology as well as preparing students for Biology Olympiad and participating in other wider activities. Physical and electronic resources are extremely good, with this being reflected in very high levels of student achievement.
We have a full-time cover opportunity for someone to join us in September on a maternity temporary contract, coming to an end on the return of the post-holder. The successful applicant will have a degree in Biology or a closely allied subject, with an enthusiasm for their subject and the ability to share that with our students. We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers.
Please note that posts advertised to start in September 2023 actually commence with student enrolment at the end of August. Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.
