Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.
We have 230 students studying A level Computer Science and almost 150 studying one of our BTEC IT courses (level 2 and level 3). As a result of our current Head of Subject leaving the College, we are seeking a new Head of Subject to manage both subject areas from April 2024. It is a rare opportunity for someone passionate about the subject to develop the area and build on its success to date. In addition to the management salary, you will have 5 sessions a week remission from a full-time contract.
Whilst the management role involves both Computer Science and IT, the teaching part of this role is for IT. It is essential that you are able to teach programming (see additional details in department information). You will be an experienced and successful teacher of the subject and an excellent team player. Previous management experience is desirable, but not essential.
