STUDENT TRAVEL

Peter Symonds College is situated in the heart of Winchester. It is five minutes walk from the rail station and 20 minutes walk from the bus station. Many buses arrive either in college or at the rail station for the convenience of students.

Please note there is no onsite car parking for students. Students with disabilities or mobility issues may apply for a permit to park onsite. Application forms are available from Student Services and applications must be supported by a consultant’s letter.

Changes have been made to the morning times of the 692 bus between Lowford and Bishops Waltham. Please see the Parents Portal or Stagecoach website for details. More time has been allowed for the journey.

Educational Rail Pass

L6

The Summer Term rail pass is now available to purchase from the college online shop. The deadline for purchasing the pass is MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 23 MARCH. Passes purchased by this deadline will be ready to collect on Monday 3 April. You will also have received an email from college giving detailed information and all deadlines regarding the pass. Please see the Parents Portal to view the email again.

Late orders

A second late order will be placed but PLEASE NOTE that it is not financially beneficial to order a termly season ticket after Sunday 23rd April, and so we will not be placing a third order with South West Trains this term.

U6

It is not financially worthwhile for U6 students to purchase an Educational Rail Pass. Students will find it cheaper to buy a season ticket directly from SW trains for the period 24th April and 25th May, and then buy weekly / daily tickets for exam days. Help is still available from the Student Support Fund.

2.Buses

College does not operate "school buses" of its own. Instead students are expected to use publicly operated bus services. Several companies currently serve routes to college, many of which arrive on site in line with lesson times.
