The department of Philosophy is one of the largest centres in the country for A level Philosophy, catering for around 250 students who achieve very high success rates. Our current team of four staff share resources and work closely together within specialist classrooms.
This is a part time, permanent vacancy of between 0.5 and approximately 0.7 FTE. We seek an enthusiastic Teacher to join the team and, if you wish, you may also be considered for the role of Head of Subject. Please make this clear in your application.
The successful candidate will be a graduate of Philosophy or of a closely allied subject, familiar with contemporary issues in the teaching of Philosophy. Above all, you will be a skilled and committed Teacher, able to inspire students to achieve of their best.
We would also advise you that posts advertised to start in September 2017 actually commence with student enrolment on Tuesday 29 August 2017. Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.
