This section contains questions we are often asked. The questions are divided into general categories.
The following questions are available in this section:
Peter Symonds does not have a defined catchment area. The area to which we make offers varies each year, depending on the number of places available and the geographical distribution of the applicants.
If you are interested in coming to Symonds, please apply and we will let you know in due course whether we are able to make you an offer of a place.
We always make sure that we serve our local community first, so students living in the Winchester area are always given priority along with those who attend our partner schools. We then continue to make offers until we have made as many offers as we are able.
You will find out whether we can make you an offer of a place by Easter at the latest. If we are not able to do so, we will ask whether you would like to have your application placed on a Reserve List.
All applications will be made online. You can find the online application form at https://apply.psc.ac.uk/. Applications can be made from September to December in the year before you are due to enrol at the college.
You need to register to create an account. Once you have done this, you can then fill out the form in your own time, saving the information as you go. Once you have completed the form you are able to print off a copy for yourself. We will acknowledge that we have received your application and then will be in touch in due course to let you know what happens next.
We will start making offers in January and will continue to do so until the Easter holidays.
We arrange interviews from October until Easter each year. We will contact you to let you know when your interview is.
Whether you are interviewed in October or March, the date of your interview has NO impact on whether you are offered a place.
We do not offer places on a \'first come, first served\' basis.
We will consider all applications received before the application deadline equally, according to our Admissions Policy. We do not offer places on a \'first come, first served\' basis.
